Scope

Everything published at sewingmechanic.com is published for information. We research presser feet, bobbins, needles, timing and the parts that make a machine sew and write up what we find; we are not licensed professionals, so none of it should be treated as professional advice.

How we research

Public sources only: vendor or manufacturer documentation, current pricing pages, and patterns across user feedback anyone can read. Desk research is never presented as hands-on testing, and a figure we cannot verify does not go on the page.

What we can and cannot promise about accuracy

What was true when a guide was written may not be true today: prices move, models are discontinued, features are added and removed. We update pages when we notice, but the responsibility for checking a detail that matters to you — price above all — stays with you. Corrections are welcome through our contact page.

If you buy something here

Our guides are digital documents. Buying one licenses you personally to read and use it; it does not let you resell, republish or pass on copies.

The sale is handled by our payment processor on behalf of Fieldnote Guides — that is who you are paying, and the name your receipt carries. The charge appears on your card or bank statement as FIELDNOTE GUIDES. Card details never reach us. Access is immediate: once payment clears the document opens on its own private link. Refunds covers the case where it does not.

Commissions

Read our affiliate disclosure: it explains which links pay us, how much that changes what we recommend (nothing), and what we refuse to do.

Our content

The text and images we produce are ours. You are welcome to quote a short passage with a link back. Republishing whole articles, or feeding them wholesale into a product of your own, is not covered by that.

Liability

The site is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from decisions you make based on our content. Nothing here limits a right of yours that cannot be waived.
